My journey as a doll artist.
Hello!
My name is Ming! ( or SheCow)
I got my first Ball Jointed Dolls in 2004 and soon started learning to do face-ups (custom painting on doll heads).
I did not start sculpting until 2008. At first, I started learning the process with making small masks for dolls using paper clay and turning that into resin. It was difficult in the early 2000s. There wasn't much information on the web on resin casting or doll making, so I had to figure things out as I go. After many trials and errors, I can create colorful resin dolls but there is so much more to learn and to grow as an artist. I will continue making more dolls in the future with new tools and processes such as 3D modeling and 3D printing in hopes of someday speeding up the process but for now, I am still learning the process so bear with me and follow me on this doll making journey together.

Kit the little fox |
Kit is my original doll inspired by my two little Pomeranian dogs (Meggie and Buddy). Like my 2 pups that had brought me so much joy in life, I wanted to project their silly smiles through Kit’s facial expressions. Though Kit is supposed to be a fox character, I believe there are similar facial expressions with the silliness of a dog. Kit was sculpted out of paper clay and Apoxie Sculpt, then resin casted by myself. It took 3 years to complete a prototype doll and it was a learning experience along the way and I am continuing to grow my skill with every new doll that I make. I hope this little fox will bring others joy.

ORIGINAL DOLL SCULPT
Mara head sculpt is my first original sculpt that is SD10 sized with changeable faceplate and open mouth option with changeable inner mouth pieces.
